Military Wellness Initiative Network

2017, Safe Homes Board of Director’s under the leadership of the Founder/President & Visionary commissioned and adopted the third Division of Safe Homes coined, “Military Wellness Initiative Network” (MILWIN) Division, a Safe Homes Initiative. MILWIN vision is to demonstrate the community impact on behavior health long term outcomes for Military Service Members, Veterans and Their Families (MSMVF).

The Genesis of MILWIN


The Washington State Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS) Division of Behavioral Health and Recovery (DBHR) provided a funded opportunities for “expert consultation and training related to collaboration and engagement with Active Military, Veterans and military families in community settings.


MILWIN offers expertise and outreach to increase services and reduce barriers within sub-recipient communities for this priority group, to including a guidance document for future public dissemination.


MILWIN increases Community & Coalition Capacity & Outreach to our targeted populations through trainings and consultations via webinars, podcasts, live-streaming or in-person facilitation.


MILWIN Strategic Partners educate civilian prevention providers on the military, its culture, and its people; in order to ease transition to life outside of the military and increase understanding of the cultural differences in order to provide higher quality services.
